Datsun CROSS

JAKARTA (May 7, 2018) – Datsun today launched the new Datsun GO and Datsun GO+ models in Indonesia.

Infused with the same DNA as their predecessors, both models offer new styling and features that take them to another level, including the addition of Xtronic CVT technology.

The new Datsun GO is aimed at a younger generation of customers who are looking for stress-free driving on busy roads and who want to enjoy the freedom of personal mobility. It’s a fresh-looking, agile hatchback that provides genuine driving pleasure. Datsun’s advanced Xtronic CVT gearbox option adds ease of driving to the mix.

Serving the different needs of up-and-coming families, the new Datsun GO+ is a stylish family car for customers who need the versatility of extra interior space and a feeling of well-being when traveling with their loved ones.

Fresh looks: the center of attention

The new models have an upmarket style that stands out in the crowd. Distinctively styled front and rear bumpers and new aero kits give both cars a bold new look.

Both models feature the chrome-framed, hexagonal Datsun signature grille. However, it’s bolder, wider and more upright than before, adding energy and a sporting stance.

The front fascia of the car is fully redesigned and now features new headlamps and LED daytime running lights. The new door mirror covers incorporate turn light repeaters. All these additions are designed to enhance safety.

At the rear, an external lock has been added to the tailgate for greater convenience. This allows the door to be opened from the outside by using a key, rather than having to pull a lever from inside the cabin.

New 14-inch alloy wheels give the cars a more assertive stance on the road, while a new palette provides a wide range of colors for customers to choose from. The new Datsun GO comes in five shades, and the Datsun GO+ offers six – including a new color, copper.

A new ‘joy of driving’ experience with Xtronic CVT

Xtronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) technology has been added as a new variant for the Datsun GO hatchback range in Indonesia.

Introduced for the first time in the Datsun lineup in the Datsun CROSS, this smart technology further enhances drivability and enjoyment. Smooth and easy to drive, it’s also highly fuel-efficient, offers better performance, has fewer moving parts, and is more durable, lighter and more compact than a conventional automatic gearbox.

The new models are equipped with a technically advanced and reliable 1.2-liter, three-cylinder gasoline engine (78 hp for CVT variant), which delivers high levels of performance and efficiency in a lightweight, compact package.

A brand-new cabin experience

A greater emphasis on style and quality can be found inside the cabin, with new fabrics and colors adding to the enhanced feel. The dashboard and instrument panel assembly have been fully redesigned. The interior of the new Datsun GO+ features a two-tone color combination of black and beige. The new Datsun GO has a piano-black center cluster and new silver accents for the AC ventilation for the new Datsun GO.

The new dashboard incorporates a 9.5-liter glovebox with a lid and open spaces for small items on both sides of the steering wheel.

The new door trims now have bigger storage pockets, each capable of holding a 1-liter bottle and 600-milliliter bottle at the same time while still leaving space for items like a wallet or a charger for a mobile device.

A 6.75-inch touch-screen monitor in the center of the dashboard houses a purpose-designed, fully integrated audio system with MP3, USB, AUX, Bluetooth and smartphone connection compatible with both the iOS and Android systems. A fixed, roof-mounted radio antenna allows better radio reception for both FM and AM.

Other practical features include power windows in the rear and electric adjustment of the exterior door mirrors.

Access to the third row of seats in the new Datsun GO+ has been improved, as the middle row tumbles forward and out of the way after being folded.

Smart features that are more commonly found on an upper-segment car, such as automatic headlights, a follow-me-home system, and a front wiper with an intelligent wiping system, have been added.

A comfortable experience

Individual front seats offer greater comfort, support and style, with the gear lever now placed in a new console between the seats.

The new seats are ergonomically shaped with generous side bolsters to provide greater support during cornering. Knee pads on the sides of the center console offer additional comfort for the driver and passenger when cornering.

The shape of the backrest has also been optimized for greater comfort. The front seats on all models feature Datsun’s proven spinal seat system for a more comfortable journey.

Changes to the chassis include the adoption of new, high-response shock absorbers, which give a more linear reaction to road imperfections, for less pitching and added comfort.

The twist beam rear suspension system provides excellent handling with good ride comfort. Its compact dimensions don’t encroach on the floor space, giving third-row occupants in the Datsun GO+ extra legroom.

Both models are equipped with more cabin insulation for a higher level of quietness to ensure a comfortable ride.

A travel experience with peace of mind

New safety features include improved lighting performance for both the low and high beams of the new headlamps, the addition of daytime running lights, and turn indicator repeaters in the door mirrors. The safety belt reminder will help ensure that the driver and passengers remember to buckle up.

Rear visibility is improved thanks to a new high-pressure wash jet and rear wiper.

Another new feature is an integrated keyless entry with immobilizer, adding the convenience of remote locking and unlocking, as well as peace of mind as the car is secured.
